Holy Bible: From the Ancient Eastern Text: George M. Lamsa's Translation From the Aramaic of the Peshitta

This is where we begin. This Bible is not a version, but a re-translation by a man who was raised speaking Aramaic, the language historians agree was the spoken language of the Holy Land at the time of Christ. His translation clarifies many confusing and contradictory passages that have caused many to stumble. If you're not sure, please take a moment to read the reviews, of which there are many, at amazon.com before buying. It has a 4 star average rating, but by and large, their contributing reviewers give it a maximum rating of 5.

The books which describe the awesome power and love of God are paramount to us. Adored by thousands, hated by some, the ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman resulted in many true conversions and documented healings. In I Believe in Miracles and God Can Do It Again, she recounts the tesimonies of many people who experienced bonafide healings from just about everything you can imagine a person being afflicted with.
Never Too Late is the in-depth story of the healing of Marion Burgio from Multiple Sclerosis. All guaranteed to inspire your own faith to new heights. Once you've read the results of her ministry, you really mustn't miss out on the way it all began. A collection of her own personal accounts, teachings and experiences, A Glimpse into Glory is another book you just can't miss. Daughter of Destiny: Kathryn Kuhlman is the only official biography of this precious handmaiden of the Lord and a rare glimpse into the making of a powerful and effective vessel for divine service.

Begin the journey of another amazing woman of God with The Hiding Place, the story of a Dutch family, the Ten Booms, who were imprisoned in the German concentration camps for hiding Jews in their home. Most of them died there, but by a miracle Corrie made it out alive, and her account of the experience will change your life. What happened next? Read Tramp for the Lord , the amazing story of Corrie's world travels to spread her hard-learned word that there is no darkness greater than the ocean of God's love. Corrie went on to publish many wonderful and uplifting books, but one that deals with a rarely-touched subject is hard to find and truly precious, so keep your eye open for Intellect Not Needed, the story of her ministry with Down's Syndrome children before those fateful events of WWII, at your favorite vintage bookstore or yardsale.

The subject of many rumors and some flat-out lies, we have met and spoken with the author of Mutant Message Down Under and have had our own dealings with Aborigines which lead us to believe that her story is true: a personal account of an American woman from the Mid-West, working with disadvanted youth in Australia, who was taken on a four month walkabout by a tribe of Aborigines. Deeply spiritual, uplifting, and very very real, this beautiful account of a life-changing experience is a must-read! Newer versions have been abridged of the best parts, and we have endeavored to link to the original version.

Jessie Penn Lewis, writer of War on the Saints (to your left), was regarded highly by Watchman Nee and authored many small books published by the Overcomer Literature Trust which are essential reading but hard to find through any commercial outlet, so keep an eye open for them at your favorite vintage bookstore. Here are a few of these titles:

Abandonment to the Spirit
Life Out of Death
Soul and Spirit
Life in the Spirit
Power for Service

Another vital author on topics of Christian living and spiritual warfare, Hannah Whitall Smith's practical and practiceable book is a mainstay and a refreshing relief for many.
The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life - Hardcover
The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life, Complete and Unabridged, Paperback

The Happiest People on Earth is the story of Demos Shakarian, the Armenian founder of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship. Learn more about the faith and history of the first Christian nation, Armenia, and the powerful effect one of its immigrant sons had on the lives of business people around the world.

We highly recommend you spend some time with Watchman Nee, the Chinese brother who spent his life working among his own people and writing for us all, dying in a Chinese prison for it in the end. His profound works will inspire and educate all who are serious about their spiritual walk with God.

Ever wonder what happened to the original believers in the Middle East? There are lots of online resources where you can learn about Armenia, the first Christian nation (est 300 A.D.) but little about the modern descendants of the early believers. You'll know more than most about our persecuted brethren in Palestine if you read Blessed Are the Peacemakers: A Palestinian Christian in the Occupied West Bank the account of a missionary who worked among these people, establishing an orphanage and learning much about the nature of their current struggle, a story that isn't often told in the West.
