Opals have been prized almost long as jewelry has been made to adorn people. The name finds its origin in the Sanskrit "upala," meaning "precious gem." Opals are very difficult to photograph, the camera just can't do them justice...but I'm getting better at it. Opals are my most popular stone and continually get great compliments for those who wear them. I've been fortunate to obtain many lovely stones for reasonable prices and will try to continue, but people are catching on and prices have already gone up. This is a trend that is sure to continue as the supply of Australian opal rough begins to dwindle, so these unique gemstones, rarer and more uniquely beautiful than diamonds, will be a good investment for a long time to come. What a blessing when I see how many beautiful opals I've had the pleasure of setting. If you email me with the color, size and budget you have in mind for a stone/custom jewelry piece, I will obtain one specially for your project. One of our goals is to get tooled up to cut and polish opals ourselves so our supply of opals and opal jewelry will be steady.
